Spring Weekend

I lived on campus for seven semesters and after the initial homesickness, I absolutely loved it... minus one mean roommate. During my 7th semester I signed up for my last classes as an undergraduate and they were all on Fridays. Then, I found out that I would be at a clinical location that was 20 minutes from home. After finding out these two things, I made the big decision to move home for my last semester. I really miss living on campus and miss my roommates a lot but I am saving SO much money.

However, I have the best (old) roommates who let me sleep on their couch all the time. Today I attended a nursing research conference and since I have class first thing in the morning, I am staying here.

A tradition here on campus is a little thing we call Spring Weekend. It is a huge party on and off campus during one weekend in April. Each night is spent at a different location on or around campus. I have been out to the different parties each year and last year I even was a part of the "Alcohol Safety Team." We were a group of nursing students who stayed in the dorms and helped out the students by getting them safely into their rooms and in safe positions for passing out/sleeping.

Well, tonight was the official start of Spring Weekend 2009 and I am already in bed. My old roommates and I went to one of the on campus bars and hung out. I didn't drink at all but I felt like being social. After I left, they made the long walk to the off campus apartments to hang out with more friends. I was way to cold to do that and since I have to be up early in the morning, I came back here. This apartment building is SO loud right now though, who knows how long it will take me to fall asleep.
